Far from the Crowds

The southern, rocky and hot Bukit Peninsula including Jimbaran, Bingin an Uluwatu is mainly favored by backpackers, surfers and repose seekers. Along the coast there are several hidden beach jewels such as Balangan, Dreamland, Uluwatu and Padang Padang.

The Bukit Peninsula dotted with quaint villages offers peaceful and empty beaches, great food and cultural sights at its finest. This is the place to explore Bali far from the tourist crowds by still being able to reach the touristic center within 20 minutes. If you visit the south coast of the peninsula you feel like an explorer discovering something nobody has ever seen before.

Ever wanted to be an adventurer? Come and visit the Jewel of Bali!

The Bukit Peninsula is connected with Kuta through Jimbaran. Take the main road, south of the junction with Jalan Uluwatu II (McDonald’s junction), turn right to Jimbaran and at the roundabout you turn left and climb up the hill. Just follow the road about 2km and you will end up in the center of Bukit.

Hati Hati - Drive slow and careful! As the Bukit isn’t as touristic as other places in Bali you should be very careful when driving a scooter on the road. The road conditions aren’t as good as in Kuta and there is a lot of sand on the streets. It can get kind of slippery. Just take your time and appreciate the panorama from the Peninsula.

The Bukit Peninsula offers one of the best surf conditions in the world. You should visit to the majestic beaches such as Padang Padang, Balangan, Dreamland or Bingin to try it. If you are an experienced surfer, you will have the time of your life facing spots such as: Blue Point Beach and Green Bowl. However, go snorkeling and do a coastal hike at the South Coast are also some great activities.

The Uluwatu Temple (Pura Luhur Uluwatu) is one of Bali’s nine key directional temples. Pura Luhur Uluwatu is definitely one of the top places on the island to go to for sunset delights. Overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean and daily Kecak dance performances are great thins you can see at the temple. Balinese architecture, traditionally-designed gateways and ancient sculptures underline the Uluwatu Temple's appeal.

The Bukit offers all the surf spots you’ve ever dreamed of.  You can find beautiful beach breaks in Dreamland Beach, rights in Greenbowl and crazy lefts in Uluwatu, Balangan , Padang Padang, Impossibles, etc. The waves vary from mushy to super hollow barrels. In the dry season you will have daily offshore winds.

Bukit is the right place for those who come to Bali. It's a perfect mix of Surfing beaches and cultural overlook. You'll find many places to stay in the peninsula and also a lot of different activities.   If you're looking for long beach days, there are great options in Bukit, such as Nusa Dua or Dreamland Beach. You can also surf or dive around the bukit.

Our most recommended Beach clubs are Karma Kandara Namos Beach Club and Finns Beach Club.  Both offer private beach for the day reached by an inclinator. They charge $25 entrance fee which is redeemable on food & drinks. Furthermore you can use the infinity pool and beach facilities.

There are several Spa’s in Bukit such as Jamahal Spa, Karma Spa and The Body Spa. They all have great treatments and are pretty affordable. Visit one of the Spa's and take a break from the busy life.

There are two golf courses of international standard in Bukit. Firstly, there is the Bali National Golf Course at Nusa Dua which has been renovated in 2014. At the West Coast of the Bukit there is the New Kuta Golf Course,  which will send you on a journey along the mind blowing limestone cliffs. You will experience dramatic views as you walk down the fairway.

Yes, you can! The southern cliffs of the Bukit offer incredible landscapes and during the dry season they offer perfect conditions to go paragliding. You can go by yourself or book a tour where you will be picked up at your place by a guide. You can fly on your own if you are experienced, with a tandem if you are new to paragliding or take a paragliding course.

We think it's not necessary to mention that all sunsets on the Bukit are absolutely mind-blowing. However,  if you’re looking for a lifetime experience, we're recommending you to go to the Single Fin Bar at Blue Point Beach in Uluwatu. They offer amazing food, delicious drinks and cocktails. The bar is located directly at the cliff above the world famous “Uluwatu Wave”.

There is the Jimbaran Fish Market which is highly renowned on Bali. You can buy fresh fish, clams and shellfish directly from the boats and you will get a great insight into the Balinese seafood culture. If you want to go there in the evening, you can also get your chosen fish barbequed.
