The largest and most sequestered of all the homes, having interior space of over 40 square meters, Afrika House features furnishings from the private collection of John and Cynthia Hardy from their family trips to Africa. The feel is one of spaciousness and primitive beauty as you sit on the rawhide bench from Ethiopia, or take tea on the wooden stools and antique trays.
If you prefer a more Balinese experience, the en suite private bale next door or the Bambu Indah estate deck provides a wonderful sitting or dining area. Or you can choose to relax with afternoon tea or cocktails looking over the most preserved and pristine rice terrace view in Bali. Watch the sunsets overlooking the Ayung River, Balinese rice farmers in their fields and miles of coconut tree jungle. We harbour one the best views of the Sayan Ridge in Ubud.
This home also features a daybed, an oversized bathroom with a generous rain shower and an exquisite hand-hammered, indulgent copper tub, designed and made by John Hardy. This bathtubs was recently featured in Travel+Leisure magazine’s list of “World’s Coolest Hotel Bathtubs“! The natural pool provides a background serenity of running water.
